In the UK, all stores accept cash payments only in pounds. To avoid high transaction fees and using a non-union ATM outside a chain store, find an ATM that’s part of a bank or close to one of the larger chains. Hotels and larger stores in London may also accept the Euro.
With credit and debit cards becoming more popular among establishments, getting cash won’t always be needed. Using ATM machines will make life much more convenient as well.

There are a lot of pros and cons to visiting London. November through to March is fairly cold, windy and wet; June-August generally sees warm sunny days but there’s lots of people. April, May, September and October usually bring calm weather with temperatures around 14-20 degrees, making it my favorite time to visit the city. Regardless of when you visit, make sure you pack an umbrella! It may rain at any given point! London is amazing during the holidays but don’t expect snow — it’s not likely!
